Oh, The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow!

Yesterday, after church, I took the girls to the Carousel Theater to see Annie. It was a HUGE treat and worth every penny! We had such a good time. Because it was a dinner theater the girls got to pick a fancy meal from the menu and the waiter served them giant Shirley Temples complete with a floating cherry. During intermission we chose two beautiful desserts to share as well. It was such a treat and so much fun!

The set was really interesting. The walls were on rollers and 3 dimensional so after each scene the cast would just move them in different directions creating all new rooms. The cast was fantastic and so outlandishly amusing. Miss Hanigan came to our table during intermission and the girls said in unison, "We love you Miss Hanigan!", to which she replied, "I often offer my babysitting services but no one ever takes me up on it?!" Ha! I was sure Rachel would dose off in that with dinner, intermission and the show we were there 4 1/2 hours ... but once the music started, Rachel's eyes popped wide open and she was fully engaged. Fantastic! I didn't remember all the political jokes in Annie either. Like the president saying, "Republicans can sing can't they?" or Daddy Warbucks saying, "Democrats are people, too." Ha! I think the girls will remember our day for a long, long time.
